Aging Rainbows Group For LGBT Seniors
A new pilot group called, “Aging Rainbows Coffee & Conversation” will meet on the first Tuesdays during August through October at the Senior Center at Cascades in Sterling, Virginia. If the pilot is successful, this will become a regularly scheduled program at the center. The group will discuss topics and challenges facing the 50+ LGBT Community and their allies.
The group will be led by Karen McPhail, a Sage Care credentialed facilitator, Ambassador for the National Resource Center for LGBT Aging Education and founder of the new non-profit organization, “Aging Rainbows.” Karen will lead conversations exploring supportive aspects and topics such as financial, legal and inclusive caregiving as they relate to members of the LGBT community as they age.
